Our School - Library
St. Therese’s Library aims to provide an engaging and stimulating environment, which will nurture the children’s love of literature, as well as their curiosity and interest in learning about the world.
Each class has a 40-minute session in the Library each week. It involves storytelling and structured discussion or reflection, as well as free time to browse and borrow new texts.
The Library program for the Junior years focuses on story problem and resolution and personal connection. A follow-up activity might involve dramatization or art.
The senior students listen to and discuss a range of texts in great depth. The study of literature has the potential to develop critical thinking skills and the ability to speculate on the values of our society, as well as broadening knowledge and encouraging empathy.
